"We absolutely enjoyed our sailing vacation. The yacht
was clean and neat, and it was kept that way
throughout the charter. We found the accommodations comfortable.
The boat was
not too small for the eight of us. The cabin
layout was great; the cabins most comfortable. Dining and cockpit plenty
large. We found everything on board that should
have been and more than expected: foul weather gear, scrabble
dictionary,
odd food requests. We enjoyed both the captain
and crew. They were great with all ages- sensitive to everyone-
never judgmental,
always able to be kind to everyone. Happy to
be with us, happy to be apart. John willing to transport even
our nocturnal party
animals in search of steel bands, etc. The service
was good. Both were so incredibly competent! What was so amazing
was that
they managed to so it all without making us feel
lazy. They knew the area well, and were able to give us options,
directions,
guidance, etc
We were pleased with the meals and beverages
we were served and were pleased with the way
they were presented. Service was constant, pleasant, and never
intrusive. We were
amazed that Heidi could do so much so inconspicuously.
Meal after meal, never a mess in the galley. We would charter
this
yacht again with the same crew. Our kids thought
the next vacation might be done with friends of Heidi and John
skippering a boat
to go with a second family. Margaret was our
guest and she would like to get her whole family to come next
time. The most positive
aspects of our trip were the food and the ability
to do whatever we wanted. How happy and relaxed our kids were
on board! The
only negative side of our trip was the absence
of wind. (The fact that the mainsail had been damaged on the
previous trip
was irrelevant) We would recommend the Grenadines
as a cruising area, especially for a week or more."

"We
had a fabulous trip. The boat was comfortable & clean, the food
good, the captain and the cook competent and fun
to be with. We had perfect weather, good winds, spent most of the
time hopping
from one cove or harbor in the English Virgins. My
grand daughter got her sea legs after about 48 hours of adjusting.
Even before
we disembarked, my son-in-law was making plans for
the next sail. Last night I saw Leon at a dinner party and told
him how happy we
all were which pleased him mightily. Again a million
thanks, you really did a good job."
All the best, Sally Sloan
"I
have just returned from a seven day charter trip between St. Maarten
and the Virgin Islands, with John Gould and Heidi Wheeler. I write
to express to you my appreciation, which I believe is shared by
all members of my party, for the way that John and Heidi performed
their functions.
Our charter party included three men who are fairly experienced small-boat sailors, but not experienced ocean-going sailors, plus for part of the week two women who were not experienced. Thus, the charter had two parts; a relatively easy-going initial portion and a more seriously sailing-oriented latter portion. John and Heidi well understood, adapted to and provided for the differing objectives of both portions of our trip.
It would be difficult to say what aspect of John and Heidis conduct of the charter was most helpful and enjoyable, for all of their work met the highest standard. For myself, I think I most appreciated their excellence in sailing and seamanship and their willingness and ability both to provide clear and gentle guidance and instruction and to let us handle the boat as much as we wanted and were able to. John was always scrupulous about maintaining proper procedures and safety precautions, and we learned muchfrom him about these primary concerns.
The other services provided during our charter were equally excellent. Heides cooking and service, and the quality of the provisioning, were exemplary. The boats condition and maintenance in terms of cleanliness and functioning were always top-notch. They were always willing to suggest interesting side trips above and below the waters surface and to make them possible.
We also greatly appreciated the graciousness and consideration
with which both John and Heide invariably conducted themselves, and
found them delightful companions as well as charming hosts and confidence-inspiring
guides. In any event please express our thanks, appreciation, and wishes
for fair sailing when you speak to them next."
Sincerely yours, Mike Bailer
